MetalsTech (MTC) has struck bonanza gold grades at its Sturec Gold Mine in Slovakia.

A new record result of 1 metre at 594 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 100g/t silver from 81 metres down hole was returned during the Phase II drill program.

The program was designed to increase confidence in the mineralised zone on the margin and outside the existing Sturec mineral resource.

Drilling also intersected a thick, continuous mineralised zone of 38 metres at 16.38g/t gold and 8.1g/t silver from 44 metres.

Visible gold was identified within a quartz filled vein during geological logging and sampling, displaying variably rich grained sulphides.

MetalsTech Chairman Russell Moran said the results were very encouraging.

“Sturec is shaping up to be an extraordinary deposit with bonanza grade potential,” Mr Moran said.

“As we step out further away from where historic mining has occurred, we are hopeful that we will continue to hit these incredible mineralised zones which can expand on and help grow what is already a very exciting and significant gold resource.”

The company said it was in the midst of finalising a report on metallurgical test work, which it expects to announce in the coming week.

MetalsTech shares were up 13.6 per cent, trading at 75 cents at 10:45 am AEST.
