MetalsTech (MTC) has intersected a thick, continuous mineralised zone in the fourth hole drilled at its Sturec Gold Mine in Slovakia.

The company is undertaking its first underground drilling program from within the Andrej Adit. So far, MetalsTech has drilled six diamond holes in this program which is testing for southern extensions to the high-grade plunging zone within Sturec’s mineral resource.

The fourth hole was drilled to a depth of 140.9 metres and intersected a mineralised zone of 90 metres at 3.88g/t gold and 13.9g/t silver.

Results include nine metres at 11.66g/t gold and 62.3g/t silver from 14 metres, six metres at 33.76g/t gold and 36.2g/t silver from 43 metres, and one metre at 89.1g/t gold and 69g/t silver from 47 metres.

The underground mineralised structure has now been drilled over a strike length of 150 metres from the boundary of the Sturec mineral resource with the mineralisation remaining open along strike and down dip.

“This is an outstanding result for what is only our fourth drill hole on the project in an area that has never been drilled before. It looks like we are going to get a nice thick extension of the mineralised zone over the current 150-metre step out,” Chairman Russell Moran said.

“We will be looking to see how far we can extend this zone down dip with these next few holes, then we will look to step out further,” Russell added.

MetalsTech has also received additional assays from the third hole which have indicated the mineralised zone is 14 metres longer.

The assay results have interpreted a continuous mineralised zone from 211 to 284 metres. Over this interval, the drill hole intersected 73 metres at 2.14g/t gold and 8.8g/t silver from 211 metres including 24 metres at 4.74g/t gold and 13.4g/t silver from 252 metres.

The fifth and sixth holes have both been completed and the seventh hole is now underway.

Company shares last traded steady for 16 cents in early morning trade.
