Joint venture partners, Metgasco (MEL), Vintage Energy (VEN), and Bridgeport have finalised the well completion campaign for the Vali and Odin projects in South Australia.

This formed the second phase of the four stage program to bring the Vali gas field into production, with four wells; Vali-1 ST1, Vali-2, Vali-3 and Odin-1 now set up for gas production.

The joint venture is now focussing its attention on the pipeline and construction phase, which will connect the Vali field to the Moomba gas gathering system at the Beckler Field in South Australia.

Regulatory approvals are on track, procurement is well advanced, and the fabrication of production skids is underway.

The first well is due for commissioning in October upon the receipt of major equipment, with the remaining wells to follow.

Metgasco Managing Director Ken Aitken said work on the Odin field conceptual tie-in engineering was progressing in parallel with the Vali project activities.

“The joint venture now has four gas wells in the Vali and Odin production hub completed for production and I look forward to the safe and successful completion of the pipeline installation, facilities construction and commissioning leading to first gas in October,” he said.

MEL shares were trading steady at 2.4 cents, while VEN shares were up 2.5 per cent at 8.2 cents at 12:14 pm AEST.
