MinRex Resources (MRR) has discovered spodumene over three of its Pilbara lithium projects.

The company has completed its second ground reconnaissance field program, which included a helicopter reconnaissance program, over the Tambourah North, Haystack Well and Coondina South projects.

A total of 16 rock chip samples were collected from the program, with assays still pending.

However, results so far recorded large pegmatites hosting visible spodumene, Lepidolite, tourmaline, tantalite, cassiterite and kunzite over the three lithium projects.

Notably, no modern exploration drilling for lithium has ever been carried out at the projects.

“We are delighted to have identified spodumene within extensive outcropping pegmatites over three projects areas,” Non-Executive Director George Karageorge said.

“These rich spodumene stacked pegmatites have extensive width, strike and zoning which have all the hallmarks of a potential Archer Lithium Deposit.”

MinRex is now planning for a reverse circulation drilling underway to test pegmatites over all three projects.

The company said it is well funded for exploration, with $5.1 million cash on hand.

On the market, MinRex was up 1.67 per cent and is trading at 6.1 cents per share at 11:40 am AEDT.
