MinRex Resources (MRR) has identified high-grade lithium mineralisation at its Sisters project in the Pilbara region of WA.

The company recently completed geological mapping over the project, which detected extensive stacked pegmatites hosting visible spodumene.

Further, rock chip assay results indicated high grades of lithium-tin-tantalum mineralisation.

Managing Director George Karageorge said the company was excited to have confirmed the high-grade lithium mineralisation initially identified from outcropping pegmatites over the Sisters project area.

“These rich spodumene-stacked sheeted pegmatites have extensive width, length and untested zonation at depth,” Mr Karageorge said.

“The unexpected high-grade lithium-tantalum-tin pegmatites further confirms the high prospectivity of the area to potentially delineate lithium resources proximal to the Archer Lithium deposit.”

MRR has planned a reverse circulation drill program for this month to test new target areas.

In addition, the company has planned shallow reconnaissance drilling over the newly-identified soil geochemical target areas.

As such, it has received Program of Works approval and executed a Native Title Heritage agreement.

Shares in MinRex Resources were trading 5.77 per cent higher at 5.6 cents at 1:21 pm AEST.
