Mogul has partnered with Wizards of the Coast, a publisher of fantasy games for tabletop and digital platforms.

Mogul is an esports media and software company which owns and operates the mogul.gg tournament platform technology — a pure-play online esports tournament and matchmaking platform.

Wizards is a division of the global toy company, Hasbro Inc, and the owner of the world’s most popular strategy trading card game, Magic: The Gathering.

Magic: The Gathering has evolved into Magic: The Gathering Arena (MTG Arena), which is the latest digital expression of the the original card game. It has proven to be widely popular since its open beta in September last year, with over one billion games played.

Mogul and Wizards have launched an MTG Arena branded hub, which enables MTG Arena players on Mogul to compete with and challenge other players on ladders.

“Wizards of the Coast is a great addition to Mogul’s partner roster and we’re delighted to offer our innovative platform features to the tournament championship,” Mogul Chief Marketing Officer Mark Warburton said.

Through the partnership, the companies are launching the MTG Arena Mogul Championship 2019. Any player from Australia or New Zealand is invited to compete for a prize pool of over A$50,000 in cash and prizes.

Registration is open and the Championship will commence on October 7 2019.

“This partnership with Mogul opens up new horizons of what we can offer our players and we hope our ANZ fans are as excited as we are about this additional way to engage with Magic: The Gathering Arena,” Wizards of the Coast Regional Marketing Manager APAC Wilkin Chan said.
