Monadelphous (MND) has secured a $200 million construction contract with Albemarle to expand its Kemerton lithium hydroxide plant in Western Australia.

The contract includes front-end pryomet structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works to do with the site’s two new lithium processing trains.

The deal comes after the successful delivery of construction packages on lithium trains one and two as well as the recently awarded long-term maintenance and capital-sustaining project contracts at Albemarle’s Kemerton operations.

“We are extremely pleased to have secured these key construction opportunities, and look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality solutions for customers, as well as supporting local communities through the provision of employment and supply opportunities,” Monadelphous Managing Director Zoran Bebic said.

Work is set to commence later this year and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025.

MND was up 5.6 per cent, trading at $13.20 at 3:57 pm AEST.
