PDI: Strategic investment backs Côte d’Ivoire gold opportunity

PDI Gold (ASX: PDI) attracted attention on HotCopper after it agreed to make a $5.1 million strategic investment for a 9.9% shareholding in Côte d’Ivoire gold explorer Skylark Minerals (ASX: SKM).

The investment is part of a $20 million share placement being completed by Skylark to advance its flagship 1.2 million ounce Zaranou gold project in Côte d’Ivoire.

Skylark recently delivered an updated Inferred Mineral Resources estimate for the Zaranou project for 1.20 million ounces, more than tripling the contained gold within 12 months of acquiring the project.

“The current Mineral Resource of the Zaranou project is hosted within three deposits which all have potential to grow with additional drilling, and there is significant upside along the Zaranou project’s nearly 50km of prospective strike,” MD and CEO, Matthew Wilcox, said.

PDI was down 1.68% to $4.09.

IVZ: Cabora Bassa agreement reaches major milestone

Invictus Energy (ASX: IVZ) was up after it confirmed that the Petroleum Production Sharing Agreement (PPSA) governing the Cabora Bassa project has been formally published in the Zimbabwe Government Gazette.

The gazettal completes the execution requirements for the agreement, following its execution between the Republic of Zimbabwe, Invictus Energy and its 80%-owned subsidiary Geo Associates (Pvt) at an official signing ceremony in Harare in May 2026.

MD, Scott Macmillan, said this represents a major milestone for Invictus, formally establishing the long-term fiscal, legal and commercial framework underpinning the appraisal, development and eventual production of petroleum from the Cabora Bassa project.

“The formal gazettal of the Petroleum Production Sharing Agreement is a landmark milestone for Invictus and the Cabora Bassa project, completing the final formal step following the landmark signing of the agreement earlier this year.”

IVZ was up 1.64% to 6.2c.

NEU: FDA grants orphan drug designation for brain injury treatment

Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX: NEU) was popular after the FDA granted Orphan Drug Designation for NNZ-2591 to treat for the treatment of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).

Orphan Drug designation is a special status that the FDA may grant to a drug to treat a rare disease or condition with fewer than 200,000 patients in the United States. Amongst other incentives, Orphan Drug designation qualifies the sponsor of the drug for seven years of marketing exclusivity, as well as waiver of the prescription drug user fee for a marketing application.

HIE is a potentially devastating type of brain injury caused when a baby’s brain does not receive enough oxygen or blood flow before or shortly after birth.

Neuren is developing NNZ-2591 for multiple indications, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome, HIE and Angelman syndrome, all of which have Orphan Drug designation.

NEU was up 0.98% to $20.56.
