Murray River Organics has announced a 27 per cent increase in the export of its products in the year to date over the 2019 financial year.

Murray River is an Australian manufacturer and supplier of certified organic products ranging from dried vine fruit, table grapes, nuts, seeds, dried berries, chia seeds, prunes, dried ginger, dried mango, quinoa, coconut products and rice.

The company have acknowledged China has been a major contributor to the increase in exported products, as sales to Chinese customers have more than doubled in the 2020 financial year since the same time last year.

CEO Valentina Tripp believes there is significant potential for continuing growth in exports to China following the company’s recent launch on the WeChat platform.

WeChat is a Chinese multi-purpose social media platform which attracts over one billion users each month.

“WeChat is a very powerful tool used by more than a billion users each month which enables us to communicate directly with Chinese consumers, build brand awareness and share the Australian Organic Dried Vine Fruit provenance story as the largest Dried Vine Fruit Grower in Australia,” Valentina said.

With ongoing concerns about food safety in Asia, Murray River has become a trusted clean and green company which may result in new contracts.

Overall, the growth in exports has been a major focus for the company as the global demand for dried fruit has increased.

The company also re-entered the European market with its high-quality Australian Sultanas now being exported into premium baking industries across Germany and Italy.

“We have received great support from Dried Fruit Australia, with its Chairman, CEO and key Board Member, who are also growers, attending trade shows in China, Japan, Vietnam and Germany,” Valentina added.

These trade shows confirmed the demand for Australia’s dried vine fruit will continue to accelerate.

Additionally. Murray River is hosting delegates attending the International Dried Vine Conference in Mildura today at its Mourquong Processing Facility.

Shares in Murray River Organics are up 10.3 per cent today and trading for 7.5 cents each.
