- Mr Curnow has more than 35 years’ experience in mining and exploration roles concerning gold, copper and base metals across the globe
- NMR has also announced plans to conduct a more than 30,000-line kilometre airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over its Palmerville project in Queensland
- The company says at Maneater Hill, it will complete a detailed review of 2022 drilling before deciding its next phase of exploration

Native Mineral Resources (NMR) has appointed highly experienced geologist, Greg Curnow as its Chief Geologist.
Mr Curnow has more than 35 years’ experience in mining and exploration roles concerning gold, copper and base metals in Australia and across the globe.
The company said it would benefit from his extensive experience in exploring Queenland and Western Australia.
NMR Managing Director Blake Cannavo added that Mr Curnow was a “significant addition to the team”.
“…Greg’s knowledge of the North-Eastern Goldfields and North QLD geology will allow NMR to rapidly advance its core projects as the company embarks on its 2023 exploration campaign,” he said.
The company also announced it will embark on a more than 30,0000-line kilometre airborne magnetic and radiometric survey next month, covering its wholly-owned Palmerville project in North Queensland.
It aims to better define the prospectivity of a number of already identified targets, ranking the targets, defining the structural geometry of the Chillagoe Formation, highlighting major mineral-bearing structures and also developing a 3D model of the geology and mineralisation.
NMR will collaborate with the Geological Survey of Queensland on the survey, as part of the Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) grants program.
At its Maneater Hill project, the company will complete a detailed review of its 2022 drilling to help determine the next phase of exploration.
Native Mineral Resources is also planning a third diamond drill hole to increase the understanding of the Maneater breccia’s scale and style of mineralisation.
The new drill hole would target the inferred higher-grade gold-copper core of the system.
Shares in NMR were down 2.5 per cent, trading at 7.8 cents at 3:30 pm AEDT.
