Diversified energy company New Hope Corporation (NHC) has officially appointed Robert Bishop as its new CEO and Rebecca Rinaldi as its new CFO, effective immediately.

The appointments come after Mr Bishop had been acting as the companies CEO since January 14, while Ms Rinaldi had been acting as the companies CFO since February 1.

Mr Bishop is the company’s third CEO in two years, after Reinhold Schmidt resigned last month, having only held the position since August 2020.

Mr Bishop had also served as the company’s CFO since October 2020, before Ms Rinaldi took the acting position.

The company says Mr Bishop has over 20 years experience in finance and executive leadership roles across the resources and manufacturing sectors.

Ms Rinaldi is described as having significant experience in chartered accounting and over 12 years experience in the resources industry.

Both, however, are still relatively new to the company, with Mr Bishop first joining New Hope as General Manager of Corporate Development in 2019, and Ms Rinaldi first joining the company as Financial Controller in January 2021.

But New Hope Chair Robert Milner fully supports the new appointments.

“Rob and Rebecca’s appointments to the permanent roles are an endorsement of their leadership capabilities, extensive industry experience and commitment to the New Hope Group.”

Mr Bishop’s CEO salary will be $954,568 a year, inclusive of superannuation and other benefits.

He will also be eligible for short and long-term incentives, with payment at the discretion of the board.

New Hope is up four percent today, trading at $2.49 per share at market close.
