- New World Resources (NWC) has intersected a 24.5-metre-thick interval of copper-zinc sulphide mineralisation at the Antler Copper Project in Arizona
- This intercept lies almost 400 metres below the previous deepest workings, and NWC believes it is one of the best intersections returned from the project to date
- A follow-up diamond hole is now underway to evaluate the depth extents
- Confirmatory drilling is also being undertaken at the south of Antler to confirm results from historical wide-spaced drilling
- An 11-metre-thick interval was encountered with the results confirming there is a second shoot of high-grade mineralisation to the south
- Drilling is continuing and the results will be used to create a JORC mineral resource estimate
- New World is up 5.45 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 5.6 cents
New World Resources (NWC) has intersected a 24.5-metre-thick interval of copper-zinc sulphide mineralisation at the Antler Copper Project.
Antler is located in northwestern Arizona and lies between two private mining claims that cover 40 square kilometres.
The company believes this interval, from hole ANTDD202144, is one of the best intersections returned from the project to date.
This intercept lies almost 400 metres below the previous deepest workings and nearly 550 metres down-plunge from outcropping mineralisation.
These figures provide significant encouragement that additional mineralisation may be discovered at depth.
A follow-up diamond hole is now underway to evaluate the depth extents of the deposit.
Since resuming activities after the Christmas and New Year break, New World has drilled a further 13 holes and nine pre-collars.
The aim of this ongoing drilling program is to target extensions of the high-grade mineralisation, which remains open at depth, and test the underexplored strike extensions of the Antler Deposit.
“We are very excited by our recent drilling at Antler as we have seen some of the best visual intercepts encountered at the project to date,” Managing Director Mike Haynes said.
“Importantly, the deepest hole we have now drilled has returned an exceptional 24.5 metre-thick intercept of copper and zinc-rich massive sulphide mineralisation, 400 metres down-plunge from the historical workings,” he added.
Confirmatory drilling is also being undertaken at the south of Antler to confirm results from historical wide-spaced drilling.
Once completed, these results will be used to create a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate.
In January, New World announced that the first hole drilled at the south of Antler intersected up to 2.28 per cent copper, 9.67 per cent zinc, 0.79 per cent lead and 33.8g/t silver.
Since then, multiple holes have been drilled to further evaluate the strike extensions and, pleasingly, all intersected massive sulphide mineralisation.
An 11-metre-thick interval was encountered with the results confirming there is a second shoot of high-grade mineralisation to the south.
This shoot is poorly defined and drilling is continuing.
Two diamond rigs are operating at the Antler Project 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Results are continuing to be assessed with updates to be made as work progresses.
New World is up 5.45 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 5.6 cents at 11:32 am AEDT.
