Perth-based nickel and lithium explorer NickelSearch Limited (ASX: NIS) has made a number of changes to its management lineup, with the resignation of managing director Nicole Duncan, while Jon McLoughlin – a geologist with more than twenty years’ experience – has taken on the role of exploration manager.
The company has also reported that current non-executive chairman Mark Connelly will step into a new role as executive chair, while Suzie Foreman – who has served as NickelSearch’s secretary – will become a non-executive director.
Having guided NickelSearch through its early phase of exploration for namesake base metal and its later focus on lithium prospectivity, Ms Duncan’s decision to step down has been taken for personal reasons.
New executive chair Mark Connelly acknowledged her contributions to the company’s growth.
“I would like to personally thank Nicole for her significant contribution to NickelSearch over the past two years,” he said.
“On behalf of the Board, management team and all shareholders, I thank Nicole for her stewardship during her term of service and wish her all the best with her future endeavours.”
The appointment of Jon McLoughlin as exploration manager follows his long career in exploration, mining and management in Australia and in other countries, with a long-term focus on base and precious metals, in particular nickel and gold.
His experience includes time with Western Areas, MMG Rosebery and St Barbara PNG operations. He joins NickelSearch from a previous role as exploration manager at Lefroy Exploration’s ‘ subsidiary, Hampton Metals.
