Emerging exploration company Nimy Resources (NIM) has begun diamond drilling at its Mons Nickel Project in Western Australia.

The project is located 370 kilometres north-east of Perth and is situated within a large-scale fertile Komatiite sequence.

The first stage of the program is designed to test the lower geological contact of the large-scale fertile komatiite identified during previous reverse circulation drilling.

The diamond drilling will also collect sufficient core for first pass metallurgical test work and nickel concentrate evaluation.

This will then be followed up with testing of any subsequent bedrock conductor targets identified by the Moving Loop Electro-Magnetic (MLEM) survey, which is currently underway.

“We have made a strong start to our exploration program, sourcing our MLEM team and a diamond rig and crew in what is a tight market in WA,” said Nimy Chief Geologist Stu Peterson.

“We look forward to this deeper diamond drilling work to better identify what previous RC drilling had indicated as a komatiite flow.”

Nimy Resources was up 1.59 per cent, trading at 32 cents at 12:30 pm AEDT.
