  • The adjacent assets are located in the Kalahari Copper Belt and are together known as the DorWit Project
  • The resource estimates for the four deposits are based on 150,000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling, most of which was completed by a previous explorer
  • The global resource estimate for the DorWit Project is 9.97 million tonnes at 1.26 per cent copper for 125,600 tonnes of contained copper

Noronex (NRX) has reported the first JORC-compliant mineral resource estimates for its Dordabis and Witvlei copper projects in Namibia.

The two projects are nearby to each other in the Kalahari Copper Belt, which runs through Botswana and Namibia, and are together known as the DorWit Project.

The explorer engaged MSA Group to prepare the resource estimates in line with current reporting standards for the Malachite Pan, Okasewa, Christiadore and Koperberg deposits.

Previous drilling by West African Gold Exploration between 2005 and 2008 identified extensive copper mineralisation, and the data was included in the estimates.

Based on a cut-off grade of 0.5 per cent copper, the DorWit Project has a global resource estimate of 9.97 million tonnes at 1.26 per cent copper for 125,600 tonnes of contained copper.

The Malachite and Okasewa deposits also have an average silver grade of 6g/t.

All of the deposits are reported as inferred resources, with the exception of Malachite Pan, where 85 per cent of the deposit is classified as an indicated resource.

Additionally, Noronex is nearing the completion of an airborne electromagnetic survey over the regional project.

Shares have dipped 10 per cent and been trading at 13.5 cents at 1:09 pm AEDT.
