Norwest Minerals (NWM) has confirmed broad intervals of copper mineralisation at its Bali project in Western Australia.

The company received assay results for 33 reverse circulation drill holes completed at its wholly-owned project.

The main drilling program targeted four priority prospects, with many of the holes returning wide copper intercepts grading more than than 0.02 per cent.

Assay results from the Bali Lo, Bali East and Bali South prospects included 29 metres at 0.7 per cent copper from four metres including one metre at five per cent copper from 28 metres, and 52 metres at 1.4 per cent copper from surface, including 12 metres at 4.4 per cent copper from four metres.

Norwest CEO Charles Schaus said the company is “very encouraged” by the results of its first drilling undertaken at Bali since 1989.

“All prospects returned one or more wide drill intersections of copper mineralisation,” he said.

“Also, we have identified additional shear zones across the Deep South area with high-grade copper rock chips, with drill planning underway focusing on potential lateral and depth extension of these seven high-grade copper vein structures.”

Further drill planning now underway to target the copper-rich vein structures.

Norwest Minerals was up 46.7 per cent following the news, trading at 6.6 cents at 11:51 am AEDT.
