Oar Resources (OAR) has completed an initial phase of extensional drilling at the Gibraltar halloysite-kaolin project on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.

The company drilled 40 holes, extending drill coverage approximately 3.5 kilometres north of where Oar completed drilling last year.

The extensional program confirmed the presence of high-grade halloysite within a layer of saprolitic clay and according to the company, showed good white kaolinite saprolite development adjacent to the bounds of the previous phase of drilling.

Based on results from extensional drilling, Oar Resources has begun a 20-hole infill drilling program to target areas identified as having good kaolinitic clay development.

Once this round of drilling is completed, Oar will begin a broader regional reconnaissance program at Gibraltar.

Crown Project

Meanwhile, the company expects to be granted the tenements for the Crown Project in WA shortly, having now signed Native Title heritage agreements and lodged them with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Saftey.

Once granted, Oar anticipates it will be able to commence reconnaissance work on the tenements later this quarter.

Shares last traded at 1.4 cents on April 13.
