Oar Resources (OAR) is set to begin a maiden diamond drilling program at the high-grade Douglas Canyon Gold-Silver Project.

The Douglas Canyon Project lies in the prolific Walker Lane Gold-Silver district of southern Nevada.

Drilling is scheduled to begin this month with four holes, for 1000 metres. The drilling is set to be undertaken to test outcropping high-grade gold and silver mineralisation contained in epithermal quartz veining.

Previous outcrop sampling of this veining has returned up to 16.2 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 495 parts per million (ppm) silver.

Oar will initially drill two holes with the further two to be based on the observations from logging of the first two.

These first two holes are expected to take four to five weeks to complete with results to be announced as they become available.

General Manager of Geology Tony Greenaway is excited to begin the maiden drill program at Douglas Canyon.

“We are very excited to have the diamond drilling about to get underway at our high-grade Douglas Canyon gold project in Nevada,” Mr Greenaway commented.

“Drill testing of the stand-out targets has been a high priority for Oar, given the exceptional results from our initial outcrop sampling, and the project’s location in the prolific Walker Lane district of Nevada.

“With a total of four holes and 1000 metres of drill core planned, these exceptional targets will be given a thorough test and we will be eagerly awaiting the first results and observations from the core logging.”

Shares in OAR closed steady on the market at 1.2 cents.
