Okapi Resources (OKR) has begun on-ground exploration activities at the Rattler Uranium Project in Utah.

The Rattler Project consists of 51 Bureau of Land Management Federal mining claims that cover an area of roughly 1000 acres.

It hosts the historical Rattlesnake Open Pit Mine, which produced 1.6 million pounds of triuranium octoxide and 4.5 million pounds of vanadium pentoxide.

Additionally, Rattler is located immediately along strike from Energy Fuels’ La Sal Project, which hosts 4.5 million pounds of triuranium octoxide and 23.4 million pounds of vanadium pentoxide.

Currently, Okapi’s in-country Exploration Manager and team are undertaking a detailed review of historical workings, geological mapping and rock chip sampling.

This work is expected to be completed by the end of the year with drill targeting to follow.

Okapi expects to receive the rock chip assays by February and, subject to rig availability, plans to begin drilling in Q1 2022.

Shares in Okapi were up 4.95 per cent on the market and were trading at 53 cents at 3:18 pm AEDT.
