Oneview Healthcare (ONE) has launched a cloud-based tablet solution to help healthcare systems manage hospitalised patients during and after COVID-19.

Oneview Cloud is essentially an inclusive software that keeps patients up-to-date and helps them feel supported.

It enables virtual rounds, allows patients to call friends and family, and virtual interpretation services. The tablet also provides patients with the latest information on COVID-19, as well as education and even entertainment content such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

The first deployment will be to NYU Langone Health, a New York-based medical centre.

Oneview Cloud is highly accessible in that it does not require new infrastructure, servers or integrations with other systems. The tablet does, however, need access to Wi-Fi or a point-to-point VPN to the Oneview Azure infrastructure.

When a patient is discharged, the device is digitally wiped of all user data, sanitised, and is ready for the next patient.

“Healthcare organisations are having to rapidly adapt now to ensure they can deploy critical resources where they are needed the most and one of the big changes is to the daily ’rounds’ to monitor patients,” CEO James Fitter said.

“Our solution enables ‘virtual rounds’, eliminating unnecessary exposure between clinicians and patients, preserving scarce PPE and ensuring clinicians are being deployed for critical clinical care,” he added.

Oneview is also working with its clients, including Mater Group in Brisbane and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney to deploy virtual rounding and virtual visitation on their existing Oneview platforms.

Oneview ended the day in the green by a significant 40 per cent, with shares trading for 7 cents each.
