Artificial Intelligence and e-Commerce marketing company OpenDNA has signed an agreement appointing Qingdao Edge Technology Company to be the distributor of its AI and Machine Learning Technology in China.
has appointed QEdge to market and sell the OpenDNA AI platform on a non-exclusive basis in China. According to , industry forecasts suggest China will account for 55.8 per cent of all online retail sales globally, before the end of the year.
The AI platform, which is developed and owned by OpenDNA, provides personalised, real-time and targeted marketing so brands can adjust their marketing strategies to suit consumer profiles and behaviours.
The technology maps out user interests in apps and web platforms to create psychographic maps of consumer’s interests which are complemented with third party information. The AI platform then predicts and delivers information relevant to each user based on their profile and previous behaviours.
OpenDNA Managing Director Bryan Carr says OpenDNA was pleased with its new relationship with QEdge and valued its successful track record.
“We will work together to target sectors where we think we can deliver quick improvements in the world’s largest online market through the application of our AI platform to sectors such as e-Commerce,” he said.
QEdge General Manager Xiaodong Wang shared similar sentiments.

“Based on the large volume of data being generated online every day and the alignment with the State-Council-issued AI Development Plan, we see this as a great opportunity to expand into new industry sectors and generate new revenue streams for both companies”,” he said.
The State Council of China released the AI Development Plan in July 2017, which outlines the county’s strategy to become the world leading AI power by 2030 with a domestic AI industry worth nearly US$150 billion before then. According to OpenDNA, the AI sector has strong government support in China.
OpenDNA said China has been identified by PricewaterhouseCoopers and McKinsey Global Institute as having the most to gain from AI technologies and AI is expected to help improve the country’s productivity levels.
