Pantoro (PNR) has identified a large platinum group element (PGE) system within its Halls Creek tenement package in Western Australia.

Drilling to date has only evaluated 600 metres of the ultramafic contact with strong PGE mineralisation identified.

Best results include 31 metres at 2.42 grams of platinum per tonne (g/t), palladium and gold from surface; and 38 metres at 2.34g/t platinum, palladium and gold from one metre.

Managing Director Paul Cmrlec reflected on the results and the potential for the area.

“These PGE results are an example of the huge untapped potential of the Kimberly region which has seen a small amount of exploration activity when compared to other more mature mineral fields within Western Australia,” Mr Cmrlec said.

Pantoro will also undertake a 2500-metre drilling program to follow up on targets identified along strike and to the west of the Edison Prospect.

Work is scheduled to begin this month with focus on identifying additional mineralisation in the lower area of the Lamboo ultramafic complex.

Shares in Pantoro were up 2.50 per cent on the market and were trading at 20.5 cents at 11:46 am AEST.
