Paterson Resources (PSL) has begun drilling at its Grace copper-gold project in the Paterson Province of Western Australia.

The Grace project is located in proximity to other discoveries including Newcrest Mining’s (NCM) Telfar copper-gold mine and the Havieron gold deposit.

The company is undertaking a drilling program comprising 6000 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drill-holes to test targets along strike from historic intercepts.

PSL is encouraged by historic results from the area which include near surface gold mineralisation with grades of 10 metres at 20.9 grams of gold per tonne from six metres and 12 metres at 14.38 g/t from 56 metres, which haven’t been followed up.

Deeper magnetic targets are also planned to be drill-tested to determine if mineralisation is open at depth.

With the drilling contractor, DDH1, now on site, PSL has begun the six-week drilling campaign which will focus on high-impact targets identified from recent
geophysical surveying.

Infill drilling is also scheduled to test significant gaps between known mineralisation previously intersected in the Grace and Bemm Shear Zones.

In particular, the infill work will seek to follow up historic work carried out by Newmont Australia and Newcrest Mining.
