Peel Mining Ltd has revealed results from resource drilling at the Wagga Tank and Southern Nights prospects at its Wagga Tank Project in western New South Wales.

Final assay data for the Wagga Tank-Southern Nights resource definition drilling have come back and the company says the Wagga Tank Project is emerging as one of the most significant zinc poly metallic discoveries in Australia, in recent years.

Results have been revealed from the Southern Nights Central Zone, the Southern Nights Southern Zone and the namesake Wagga Tanks deposit. Mineralisation in the Southern Night Central Zone has been extended to at least 450 metres below surface.

The Southern Nights Central Zone also returned high-grade infill drilling intercepts at shallower levels, among which the most notable was: 39m at 3.59 per cent zinc, 1.27 per cent lead, 0.05% copper, 20 g/t silver and 0.14 g/t gold from 248.64m, including 21.7m at 5.21 per cent zinc, 1.94 per cent lead, 0.07 per cent copper, 26 g/t silver and 0.11 g/t gold from 252.3m.

These results continue to add further mineralisation to the Southern Nights Central Zone area.

The Southern Nights Southern Zone also returned some significant results, with intercepts including: 8m at 5.26 per cent zinc, 1.26 per cent lead and 0.11 g/t gold from 314m, including 1.58m at 21.37 per cent zinc, 5.44 per cent lead, 0.27 per cent copper, 28 g/t silver and 0.30 g/t gold from 314m.

Peel Mining said these results underline the potential size of the Southern Nights system. The company’s future focus will be on identifying additional high-grade lenses in the Souther Zone similar to the ones being defined in the Central Zone.

The Wagga Tank deposit revealed significant intersections, including 54m at 1.34 per cent zinc, 0.62 per cent lead, 0.02 per cent copper, 8 g/t silver and 0.08 g/t gold from 392m.

The drilling extended the strike of the Wagga Tank-Southern Nights system more than two kilometres, and the system remains open at strike.

The Wagga Tank project is located south of Cobar in New South Wales, and comprises of four tenements along the western edge of the Cobar Superbasin.
