Ora Banda Mining (OBM) CEO and Managing Director Peter Nicholson has resigned from the company, effective April 6.

Mr Nicholson will receive his contractual and legal entitlements and the effective continuation of his long-term incentives will be put to shareholders for approval.

Mr Nicholson is a mining engineer with more than 25 years of experience covering operational and mine management roles. Prior to joining Ora Banda, he was a Partner and Managing Director of Australia at private equity firm Resource Capital Funds, and Resident Manager, Underground Manager and Business Development Manager at Lion Ora Australia.

He said with the ongoing improvement plans, the recent $20 million equity raising and the acceleration of Ora Banda’s exploration program it was the right time for him to move on.

“Since joining Ora Banda over a year ago, Peter has led the company through a challenging period. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Peter for his outstanding commitment and wish him the best for his future endeavours,” Chairman Peter Mansell said.

While a search for a permanent CEO is underway, General Manager of Resource Development Andrew Czerw will assume the role on an interim basis.

Mr Czerw is a highly experienced geoscience professional with more than 30 years of industry experience in Australia and overseas.

Previously, he was General Manager at Tanami Gold, Director of Operations for Tectonic Resources and Chief Geologist for Emperor Gold Mining.

Shares in Ora Banda were down 2.08 per cent and were trading at 4.7 cents at 10:35 am AEST.
