The North Pine Project, where Springfield lies in Idaho, is at the stage where geological assessment is needed. Enter Dr Larry Meinert, who will be sharing advisory advice with Pioneer. His focus revolves around skarn alteration styles, zonation, and geological frameworks, as well as exploration.
He’s widely regarded as a leading authority on skarn mineralisation and magmatic-hydrothermal systems, and has written over 200 reports, which will “complement the studies already undertaken” by fellow expert Nick Direen.
“Larry’s depth of global experience brings world-class scientific expertise to our geological work,” Pioneer’s CEO Michael Beven told shareholders today.
“The integration of geological and geophysical expertise [with Dr Meinert and Mr Direen] positions Pioneer strongly as we work to unlock the full potential of the Springfield tungsten-gold prospect,” Mr Beven added.
Dr Meinert now joins Pioneer’s tech team, alongside Mr Beven and several on-payroll field geologists. Together, they’ll be running through “ground-truthing,” which boils down to studying magnetic anomalies, as well as assessing the extent and style of the skarn mineralisation, and finding new zones.
Pioneer recently wrapped up major recon work in the Springfield area in December CY25, bringing in chip sampling and high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys from across the project area.
Those datasets have already been combined with geological interpretations by Mr Direen to map geological architecture and structural controls.
Pioneer plans to fold those two datasets together with Dr Meinert’s expert evaluations to “refine targeting strategies” and better understand the mineralisation. The company will also use it to spot higher-grade targets.
Heading into Monday, PMM shares are 17c/ea.
