Prodigy Gold (PRX) has begun diamond drilling at the Reward Copper Gold Prospect in the Northern Territory.

Around 260 metres of diamond drilling will be undertaken at the prospect which has indicated strong potential to host gold-copper-lead and zinc mineralisation.

Drilling will test an electromagnetic (EM) conductor 50 metres below surface and 400 metres in length.

This conductor was identified via a recently completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling program which also intersected narrow sulphide mineralisation at 129 metres at 175 metres.

Previous RC and aircore drilling by McMahon Construction in 1988 returned a result of four metres at 1.4 per cent copper, 1.2 grams of gold per tonne (g/t), 71.2g/t silver and 1.8 per cent zinc from 16 metres.

Furthermore, rock and soil sampling returned 200g/t silver, 2g/t gold and more than 20 per cent copper.

Management is ready to begin drilling at what they believe is an exciting target.

“We are pleased to have diamond drilling underway at the Reward Prospect with this program set to test an EM conductor highlighted in a recent RC drill hole,” Management commented.

“Reward is an exciting target located along trend from the historic Reward Copper Mine which produced copper at an average grade of 11 per cent.”

“Diamond drilling at Reward is expected to be completed later this month. Follow-up diamond drilling will commence at the PHD Gold Prospect within the Hyperion Project straight after we complete the Reward hole.”

Shares in Prodigy were steady on the market and were trading at 4 cents at market close.
