Prodigy Gold (PRX) has completed its 11-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Reynolds Range Gold-Copper Project.

The company began drilling at the Northern Territory project in mid-April and focused on the Reward, Sabre and Scimitar targets.

A 151-metre diamond hole was also drilled at the Buccaneer Deposit to undertake physical property testwork for a heap leach study.

Sabre

Seven RC holes, for 1081 metres, were drilled at Sabre to test the plunge extension of the oxide mineralisation and extensions of previous RC drilling.

Holes were also drilled under gold anomalism previously intersected via rotary airblast (RAB) drilling.

The three northern holes intersected visible mineralisation and the deepest hole intersected quartz veining, silica alteration and sulphide between 161 to 181 metres and 239 to 253 metres.

Previous drilling at Sabre has returned results of 17 metres at 3.93g/t gold, 26 metres at 2.73g/t gold and 24 metres at 2.59g/t gold.

Scimitar

Three RC holes were drilled at the Scimitar Prospect to test the source of of a high-grade copper-gold soil and rock chip.

While quartz veining and trace sulphides were intersected in all three holes, no clear elevated results were identified visually.

Prodigy will drill the remainder of the program with RAB drilling in the middle of the year.

Reward

Previous RC and aircore (AC) drilling at Reward intersected four metres at 1.4 per cent copper, 71.2g/t silver, 1.2g/t gold and 1.8 per cent zinc from 16 metres.

An electromagnetic (EM) survey undertaken identified a conductor 50 metres below surface and 400 metres in length.

Recently completed RC drilling intersected narrow sulphide mineralisation at 129 and 175 metres.

Buccaneer

A 151-metre diamond hole was recently drilled at Buccaneer to provide samples for compressive strength, crushing work index and abrasiveness index testwork.

This work will give an indication of the energy needed to crush the rocks.

This hole intersected 27 metres of strong mineralisation from 91 to 103 metres and 120 to 135 metres as well as visible gold, quartz veining and pyrite.

“We are pleased to have completed our first two drilling programs in our 100 per cent owned targets for this field season. These are the first targets of 15 permitted for drilling in 2021 so we have a busy period of activity ahead on the ground,” Prodigy’s spokesperson said.

“Quartz veining and sulphide typically associated with gold mineralisation at Sabre demonstrate the system continues at depth. Samples are already at the laboratory,” they added.

Prodigy has ended the day 4 per cent in the green with shares trading at 5.2 cents in a $29.03 million market cap.
