Prominence Energy (ASX: PRM) is moving into the next phase of its South Australian natural hydrogen and helium strategy, with chief operating officer Dr Krista Davies outlining the company’s pathway towards drilling at the RIU Good Oil & Gas Energy Conference in Perth today.
Speaking on day one of the conference, Davies discussed the growing global investment in natural hydrogen and helium, developments across South Australia and how Prominence is positioning its large-scale Gawler portfolio to take advantage of the emerging energy markets.
The company has been steadily building its exploration case across the Gawler Project, which covers about 64,000 square kilometres in South Australia and includes the Eyre and Northern Hinge areas.
The latest milestone came just two days before the conference, when Prominence announced an independent prospective resources assessment for its Eyre Project. The assessment also identified significant upside.
With the Eyre resource assessment now complete, the company is moving into target ranking, drilling engineering and preparation for a potential farm-out process.
Prominence is targeting detailed design and planning of its 2027 drilling program through November and December, with a multi-well natural hydrogen and helium drilling campaign targeted for mid-2027.
Prominence’s strategy gives it exposure to both commodities through the same South Australian exploration portfolio.
