Province Resources (PRL) has received results from the latest drilling at its Gnama nickel-copper project in the Fraser Range province of Western Australia.

Drilling at the Gnama South successfully intersected prospective mafic intrusive bodies below historical nickel-copper anomalism.

According to geochemical data, the newly-discovered intrusion has a similar magmatic source and emplacement history as the Eye intrusion which hosts IGO’s (IGO) Nova-Bollinger deposit around 30 kilometres northeast.

The company said the latest findings confirm the prospectivity of the Gnama South project and will now look to complete a scale review including mapping through bedrock drilling.

“Our initial drilling has confirmed our belief that the Gnama South Project is prospective for magmatic nickel-copper mineralisation,” Managing Director David Frances said.

“The geochemical signature of the intrusive body intersected is very similar to that of the Eye intrusion at Nova and focusses our future exploration aiming to identify the traps and feeder zones which are the key targets in magmatic systems.”

Approvals are in place for further reverse circulation and diamond core drilling.

The company will also assess the effectiveness of historical surface electromagnetic surveys done on the property.

Province Resources last traded at 5.6 cents on June 21.
