Pursuit Minerals (PUR) has announced the completion of a Controlled Source Audio Magneto Telluric (CSAMT) geophysical survey at its Rio Grande Sur project in Argentina.

The survey identified multiple areas highly prospective for lithium-enriched brines. It was conducted by Quantec Geosciences Argentina.

The Rio Grande Salar project hosts an inferred resource of 2.1 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent at an average grade of 370 milligrams per litre to a depth of 100 metres.

These new results reveal the project’s potential, with brines visualised to a depth of 500 metres. Planned drilling to this depth is expected to significantly increase Pursuit’s resources.

“The results of the CSAMT survey have continued in line with our expectations that the Rio Grande Sur project has the potential to host a significant resource of Lithium brine which now extends to the Mito tenement,” PUR Managing Director and CEO Aaron Revelle said.

“The CSAMT data has outlined multiple low resistivity (high conductivity) layers from approximately 150 metres to 500 metres in depth at the Mito tenement.”

The company is targeting a drilling program at its Mito prospect upon finishing its maiden drilling program on the salar group of tenements.

PUR shares last traded at 0.9 cents.
