Pursuit Minerals (PUR) has reported the potential for rare earth element (REE) mineralisation within its Warrior project in Western Australia.

The company undertook a technical review of REE geochemistry in auger and drill samples at the Calingiri East and Bindi Bindi tenements within the Warrior project.

The previous drill samples were assayed for three of the 15 REE elements and yielded high grades of up to 1549 parts per million (ppm) cerium, lanthanum and yttrium at Calingiri East.

The company also identified two new two-kilometre ionic clay cerium-lanthanum anomalies at Calingiri Eas, which will be followed up in the new year.

At Bindi Bindi, the review identified multiple one-kilometre cerium and lanthanum anomalies, with a peak cerium value of 440 ppm.

The REE anomalism is reportedly coincident with copper/iron and nickel-chromium ratio anomalism, which appears to be mapping the edges of ultramafic contracts with host sediments.

Pursuit Managing Director Bob Affleck said the company was “very excited” by the extent and high level of REE anomalism at the tenements.

“The story is evolving, with additional REE test work commissioned ahead of drilling at Ablett, Phil’s Hill and Bindi Bindi in the first half of 2023,” Mr Affleck said.

Pursuit also plans to analyse the drill samples again, this time to test for the other 12 REEs, including the critical magnet metals such as neodymium, praseodymium, terbium and dysprosium.

Due to the company’s access to its sample-pulp inventory, it doesn’t expect the full suite analysis to take too long, though Pursuit did not give a specific timeframe for completion.

Drilling in the new year will test the anomalous target at Bindi Bindi and the REE trends, as well as the Calingiri East tenement.

Company shares were trading at 1.2 cents at 3:38 pm AEDT.
