Renascor Resources (RNU) has announced results from its pilot trials at a commercial graphite production facility in China.

The independent facility produced bulk quantities of high purity graphite concentrates from ore samples taken from the company’s Siviour Graphite Deposit in South Australia.

The trials aim to produce large samples of Siviour graphite concentrates and to test adjustments to the flotation circuit. This well help optimise the production of high purity graphite concentrates at Renascor’s planned vertically-integrated graphite mine and battery anode material operation in South Australia.

These ongoing trials have achieved graphite purities of up to 97.5 per cent total carbon (TC) with a graphite recovery of 93.2 per cent. Positively, this marks an increase to previous results which achieved a 94.6 per cent TC purity with graphite recovery of 94.5 per cent.

Managing Director, David Christensen, commented on the trial results.

“The successful pilot production of large quantities of graphite is an important step in advancing toward downstream equipment selection and providing large scale sample of Siviour graphite to support our progression to binding offtake agreements.”

Renascor Resources will continue the pilot trials to produce more graphite concentrates and the program is expected to be completed early next month.

The product will then be used for downstream equipment selection trials and customer sample testing to support binding offtake agreements. The results will also be included into flotation optimisation and detailed engineering work.

Company shares were up 1.28 per cent to trade at 7.9 cents at 11:20 am AEST.
