Resource Base (RBX) has begun an aircore drilling program at the Black Range volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) project.

The VHMS project is located within the highly prospective Stavely Volcanics corridor, 50 kilometres south from the town of Horsham in western Victoria.

Resource Base claims the aircore program is an extension of the 3000-metre drilling effort which commenced in February.

The company once again opted for aircore drilling as it is the lower cost method and will reportedly allow for efficient targeting of the more expensive diamond drilling programs that will be carried out in future.

The new aircore program is aimed at drilling 1500 metres in the southeast portion of the project which wasn’t recently covered and continue to test geophysical targets that were generated from survey work in late 2021.

Resource Base will also continue to assess regional targets across the Black Range project.

In about two weeks, the materials stock will mobilise the drill rig to the Mitre Hill rare earth element project for infill drilling of a previous broad-spaced program.

Company shares closed the day off 2.78 per cent in the green at 18.5 cents.
