Minerals exploration spending remains strong in Australia.

Right Resources (ASX: RRE) has kicked off aircore drilling at the Blue prospect, located approximately 22km north of Tumbarumba, New South Wales.

MD Graham Howard, said the commencement of drilling follows receipt in August 2026 of the Level 2 Forestry Corporation of NSW permit and assessable prospecting operation approval for EL9028.

These approvals allow up to 120 aircore holes, together with provision for deeper reverse circulation (RC) and/or diamond drilling if warranted by the results.

The company plans to complete approximately 60 aircore holes for around 2,000m during this initial program subject to ground conditions and visual assessment. The drilling will provide the first subsurface assessment of the tungsten, bismuth and gold anomalism identified through geological mapping, rock-chip sampling, soil geochemistry and structural interpretation completed during 2026.

Mr Howard said the program is not designed to define a mineral resource, but rather to establish the first subsurface geological and geochemical information across the Blue system, assess the continuity, geometry and grade tenor of mineralisation identified at surface, and prioritise targets for follow-up drilling.

Initial drilling will focus on accessible targets within EL9028. A second-stage program is proposed to test interpreted extensions of the mineralised system within adjacent EL9889 later in the December quarter 2026, subject to approvals and refinement using first-stage results.

“The commencement of drilling at Blue is an important milestone for Right Resources and follows a sustained program of mapping, geological sampling, geochemistry and metallurgical work,” Mr Howard said.

“For the first time, we are testing below surface across a number of our priority tungsten and gold targets. The objective of this program is straightforward: determine whether the extensive mineralisation and geochemical trends identified at surface continue at depth, improve our understanding of the system and identify the strongest targets for future drilling.”

According to Right Resources, surface exploration at Blue has identified a broad multi-element mineralised footprint of approximately 4.7km by 3.4km².

The geological and geochemical characteristics observed to date support the company’s interpretation of an intrusion-related tungsten-bismuth-gold mineralised system at Blue.

The reconnaissance program will utilise existing road and plantation access to test selected portions of the six primary tungsten anomalies and five gold target areas.

RRE was steady at 8.5¢. Mkt cap $9.743M.
