Rincon Resources (RCR) has received assay results for the final 12 holes from its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Hasties prospect.

Hasties is part of Rincon’s South Telfer copper-gold project which lies in the Paterson Province of Western Australia and covers an area of roughly 540 square kilometres.

In August, the company completed a 27-hole, for 4944 metres, RC drilling program at Hasties to confirm historical drilling results and test for extensions to the known copper-gold mineralisation.

Best results include one metre at 4.71 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 55 metres and eight metres at 1.12 per cent copper from 58 metres including three metres at 2.48 per cent copper.

Rincon is highly encouraged by these results which have expanded the footprint and confirmed the presence of shallow copper-gold mineralisation.

Drilling has also identified a moderate to steep-dipping, southeast-plunging mineralised system spanning a strike of up to 700 metres, a depth of over 100 metres and a width of up to 50 metres.

Managing Director Gary Harvey was pleased to have received all results from its maiden drill program at Hasties.

“Our maiden RC drilling program has successfully returned multiple wide, shallow, high-grade copper and gold intercepts, highlighting the potential at Hasties,” Mr Harvey commented.

“We have now delineated a significant zone of continuous mineralisation starting from surface, extending to over 100 metres in depth, over 300 metres of strike and up to 50 metres wide.”

Phase two diamond drilling is expected to begin in November to test extensions to the mineralisation at depth and a newly identified target.

The diamond core will provide detailed information regarding the alteration, mineralisation and structural controls to the copper-gold mineralisation intersected in the RC drilling.

However, diamond drilling can only begin pending final heritage clearance.

Rincon has ended the day 5.26 per cent in the red with shares trading at 18 cents in a $9.24 million market cap.
