Explorer Rox Resources (RXL) has reported on another batch of promising metallurgical results from the Youanmi gold play in WA.

The materials stock put the spotlight on the Grace discovery in today’s announcement, which forms part of the larger Youanmi gold project. Currently, Rox is exploring the Yilgarn Craton tenement — in which it holds a 70 per cent stake — alongside Venus Metals (VMC).

In a bid to inform its future exploration campaigns, Rox embarked on a gravity and leach testwork program at the Grace discovery. Positively, the explorer was rewarded with high-grade gold recoveries — grading up to 99.8 per cent gold in fresh rock and 98.7 per cent gold in oxide mineralisation.

“I am pleased with these excellent initial metallurgical test work results from the Grace deposit,” Rox’s Managing Director, Alex Passmore, commented today.

“Particularly encouraging is the relatively high gravity recoverable gold from a coarse grind,” he continued.

Overall, the latest results from Grace confirm gold mineralisation zones, uncovered in late 2019 and 2020, will likely respond to gravity and cyanide processing.

The latest results follow a drilling campaign conducted at the Grace discovery over 2020. During the program, Rox intersected granite-hosted gold over a mineralised corridor, which extends 2.5 kilometres to the north of the project’s mine area.

Rox Resources shares jumped 12.5 per cent on the back of today’s news, trading at 3.6 cents at 11:22 am AEDT.
