Rubix Resources (RB6) has launched an investigation into “encouraging” new copper anomalism at its Paperbark project in Queensland.

The company said recent regional rock chip, soil and stream sediment geochemistry highlighted anomalous copper results associated with northeast-trending faults and magnetic anomalies.

Rubix said the copper anomalism hinted at the potential for sediment-hosted copper mineralisation, similar to that found to the southeast and throughout the Mount Isa Inlier.

The company also said it believed there were favourable structural settings associated with north-east trending faults in its project area that may have tapped into a previously unrecognised sediment-hosted copper system.

As a result of the work, several potential exploration targets have been identified in the project area, including the Fox, Paradise East and Tasman.

Rubix said it would now look to complete a program of soil and stream sediment geochemistry over the proposed target areas in the first half of FY23.

If the results are positive, it will then move on to the drilling stage to focus on these anomalies.

Rubix Resources shares were last trading at 20 cents at 10:31 am AEDT.
