Sabre Resources (SBR) has confirmed a new nickel-copper sulphide discovery at its Sherlock Bay project in Western Australia.

The company has completed a third diamond hole as part of its latest drilling program, intersecting a 40-metre sulphide zone from 348.6 metres downhole. The hole remains open to the east, west and at depth.

The intersection included a five-metre zone from 348.3 metres and a ten-metre zone from 358.6 metres, revealing massive, matrix-breccia and stringer sulphide mineralisation.

Downhole electromagnetics then confirmed an in-hole strong conductor, which Sabre said correlated with previous finds and indicated the continuity of the sulphide zone.

Sabre said all three completed holes were now being logged and sampled for nickel, copper, and cobalt in Perth, with the results to be announced once received.

A follow-up program is also being planned to continue testing this new nickel sulphide discovery.

Meanwhile, a fourth hole of the diamond drilling program at Sherlock Bay, co-funded by the WA Government, has commenced below the eastern end of the resource zone.

Sabre Resources shares last traded at 0.6 cents.
