Saferoads Holdings (SRH) has commercially deployed the first instance of its OmniStop Portable Bollard System.

On November 30, 2019, around 50,000 people attended the City of Frankston’s Christmas Festival of Lights in Melbourne.

This is Victoria’s largest free Christmas event and is one of Melbourne’s largest and most iconic street festivals.

The OmniStop Portable Bollard System stops vehicles in their tracks and is completely portable.

It offers event managers an innovative way to protect the public from terrorists and errant drives without interfering with pedestrian activity.

Access gates on the system allow for the quick entry of emergency vehicles when needed.

The deployment of the OmniStop Portable Bollard System made a vital contribution to the success of this year’s event.

Since it is fully crash tested, it allowed event management to have complete piece of mind that it would contain a dangerous driver, whether intentional or accidental.

The system did not slow the entry or dispersement of the large crowds, and the access gates allowed for the fast entry of an ambulance which was required during the evening.

“We are pleased that we have been able to provide a solution for major events organisers which enable them to feel confident that they have further mitigated risk to public safety in a minimal disruptive manner,” CEO Darren Hotchkin said.

This product has also been introduced to the events industry at Channel Nine’s The Block – Open for Inspections, in St Kilda in late-October.

Saferoads has ended the day steady with shares trading for 18.5 cents in a $6.734 million market cap.
