Saunders International (SND) has been awarded a $44 million contract to build the aviation fuel terminal at the new Western Sydney International Airport.

Saunders’ work includes the design and construction of three aviation fuel storage tanks, mechanical piping, valves, pumps, filters and controls, and electrical services.

The $44 million will contribute to Saunders’ revenue and earnings in FY23 and FY24.

“This is a significant win for Saunders, and we are excited to be able to contribute to the construction of this iconic project,” CEO and Managing Director Mark Benson commented.

“Saunders has close ties to the Greater Western Sydney region and over its 71-year history, has delivered major projects in this area,” Mr Benson added.

“Winning this contract reinforces our ability to leverage the multi-disciplined solutions we offer across the group, to deliver operational excellence for these large complex projects.”

The Western Sydney International Airport remains on track to open its domestic, international and cargo services in late 2026.

Shares in Saunders were down 4.69 per cent and trading at $1.02 at market close.
