Scorpion Minerals (SCN) has appointed Airguide Advisory as its strategic advisor.

Airguide Advisory is the consulting arm of Airguide International and have over 25 years’ experience in financial markets and the commodities sector.

The consulting company will support the company’s near-term exploration strategy and assist with introducing potential strategic partnerships to advance Scorpion’s lithium assets in Western Australia.

Scorpion’s Executive Chairman Bronwyn Barnes said Airguide’s experience in securing partnerships and investment agreements is congruent with the company’s plans and positions Scorpion for a productive and exciting future.

The company said Airguide has a proven reach globally which opens doors to conversations for clients with groups interested in investment funding, offtake partnerships and opportunities in commodities broadly.

Scorpion also has appointed Michael Kitney as Non-Executive Director, effective June 7.

With more than 40 years’ experience, Mr Kitney is an internationally experienced extractive metallurgist in resource evaluation and project development roles in Australia and internationally.

He is currently an Executive Director at Mn Energy where he is providing technical direction for process development for battery grade manganese sulphate production and has contributed to project development and construction throughout Africa, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

“Mike’s appointment to the Board ensures that we have the necessary skills in place to support our plans for our exciting project portfolio in WA,” said Ms Barnes.

Mr Kitney will be paid a monthly retainer of $5000 for an initial engagement period of 12 months and will receive success-based incentive securities subject to receiving the required regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Non-Executive Director Craig Hall has resigned from the Board with immediate effect.

Shares in Scorpion were up 1.14 per cent, trading at 8.7 cents as of 3:22 pm AEST.
