Scorpion Minerals (SCN) has found three high-priority targets within its Pharos Project, near Cue in Western Australia.

The three new PGE-nickel-copper targets were identified during a comprehensive technical review of previous exploration results.

The targets are located near the Pallas targets at Glen Nickel and south of Mt Mulcany.

In 1974, Kennecott Explorations completed electromagnetic (EM) surveys in the area and found several conductors and anomalies near the Pallas target that were never followed up.

Notably, while Kennecott was targeting Mt Mulcahy style copper-zinc-silver-gold volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits, it discovered these conductors and anomalies may be related to ultramafic hosted PGE-nickel-copper mineralisation.

Between 1982 to 1984, CRA Exploration completed base metals exploration at Pallas and drilled two holes in the area.

The company now intends to conduct field reconnaissance activities as soon as it received low impact exploration clearance.

Other planned work at the targets also include EM and induced polarisation surveys.

On the market, Scorpion is in the grey and is trading at 5 cents per share at 10:43 am AEST.
