Bioplastics developer SECOS Group (SES) has secured a strategic distribution agreement with Infinite Source Of Ideas (ISOI).

This agreement will see ISOI act as SECOS’ exclusive distributor, selling the company’s Cardia Bioplastic resins to local converters in Latin America.

ISOI has already supplied Cardia resins to multiple converters, which have, in turn, produced compostable bags for retailers.

“After initial qualification trials our customers are very happy with the quality and relative ease of processing of Cardia compostable resin,” ISOI Commercial Director Esteban Guzman said.

“Like Cardia, ISOI remains committed to eliminating single-use plastics by replacement with certified compostable Cardia bioresin film and bags and look forward to growing our relationship with SECOS,” he added.

The Cardia resins are derived from renewable resources — they’re also soft to the touch, colourable and printable.

They can be used in a multitude of products, such as shopping and waste bags, signage, bottles, labels, and tags.

“We are extremely pleased to have developed a quality strategic distribution partnership with the team is ISOI,” SECOS CEO Ian Stacey commented.

“They share our genuine passion for environmental technology and have a unique understanding of the Latin American market which is rapidly transforming to eliminate single-use plastics,” he added.

SECOS is trading over nine per cent higher following the news, with shares priced at 18 cents each at 10:55 am AEST.
