Senetas Corporation (SEN) has entered a supplier agreement with Verizon Australia which will see Verizon distribute Senetas’ certified high-assurance encryptors.

Essentially, Senetas’ high-speed encryptors protect network data without compromising performance. They’re used globally to protect sensitive government and business information transmitted over core IT systems’ network infrastructures.

Verizon has provided managed network and security services to Australian government departments and businesses for over 20 years.

“Verizon’s extensive business and government customer services are enhanced by its strong commitment to secure telecommunications services. This is highlighted by Verizon’s decision to locate its Asia-Pacific Advanced Security Operations Centre in Australia’s capital, Canberra,” CEO Andrew Wilson said.

Recently, the Australian government outlined the increasing threat to Australia’s cybersecurity through ‘increasingly sophisticated’ cyber-attacks which are targeting businesses and governments of all levels.

“Being able to encrypt, update and patch sensitive data without compromising on network speed or availability is extremely valuable to our enterprise and government customers,” Verizon Asia-Pacific Head of Cybersecurity John Hines said.

Company shares are up 14.8 per cent and are trading for 6.2 cents at 1:41 pm AEST.
