Sierra Nevada Gold (SNX) has launched a 5000-metre drilling program across its Nevada gold projects in the US.

The company’s reverse circulation program has been designed to test highly prospective targets across its Colorback, New Pass and Warrior gold projects.

SNX said it would initially test high-impact targets across its portfolio, involving the first drill testing in more than 40 years of the high-grade gold New Pass vein system, where two parallel north-trending veins were mined for more than 100 years.

Additionally, Sierra has planned maiden testing of the Gold Coin and Discovery Shaft mine areas within its Warrior project, where historical underground sampling of the mines returned outstanding results.

The launch of the program was initially set back by a few days due to delays in the delivery of the reverse circulation rig.

Now, combined with the core rig currently drilling at its Blackhawk project, the company said the addition of the RC rig will enable it to complete the initial drill testing of its entire portfolio, spanning 12,000 metres, within six months of listing on the ASX.

Sierra said it expected phase one of the program to be completed by early November, with first assay results received by early December 2022.

Sierra Nevada Gold was trading grey at 35 cents at 11:12 am AEST.
