Silver Lake (ASX:SLR) suspends underground operations after contractor fatality

Silver Lake Resources (SLR) has suspended underground operations at its Daisy Complex Mine in Western Australia following a fatal incident.

The contractor worked for fellow ASX-lister Macmahon Holdings (MAH) and unfortunately passed away this morning at the mining complex.

At the moment, there is no information on what happened. However, an investigation into the death has commenced, with the WA Department of Mines being notified.

Silver Lake Managing Director Luke Tonkin has expressed the company’s deepest
sympathy to the worker’s family, friends and colleagues.

Macmahon CEO Mick Finnegan extended his deepest sympathy to the deceased’s
family, friends and colleagues.

“Macmahon will provide support and counselling to the site team and family members,” Machmahon said.

On the market, Silver Lakes is down 2.60 per cent, trading at $1.69 per share, while Macmahon is down 3.75 per cent and trading at 19.3 cents at 12:10 pm AEST
