Healthcare business Singular Health Group (SHG) has released 3Dicom Mobile for Apple and Android phones.

3Dicom Mobile is a mobile medical image visualisation app that converts patients’ CT and MRI scans to a 3D model.

This will enable patients to immediately receive their scans and view them for free with annotations made by radiologists.

It can be viewed in a 3D model which provides relevant contextual information regarding the underlying pathology which should lead to reduced uncertainty and apprehension.

This software also includes a QR code for the transfer of the patient’s scans using Singular Health’s recently launched Medical File Transfer Protocol (MFTP).

MFTP allows medical image files to be shared between computers, mobile devices and virtual reality headsets.

3Dicom Mobile is a key component of Singular Health’s Scan to Surgery Process.

Chief Technology Officer Thomas Morrell called this a key milestone for the company.

“The released of 3Dicom Mobile is a key milestone for Singular Health,” Mr Morrell said.

“The ability for patients and practitioners to collaborate with their medical imaging in such a way that can be easily understood and annotated, comes on the back of our recent release of MFTP which provides the ability to quickly and securely transfer the actual DICOM from practitioner-to-practitioner and practitioners-to-patients.”

While 3Dicom Mobile is initially only available on mobile devices, the launch for tablets is imminent.

Singular Health was up 6.12 per cent on the market with shares trading at 26 cents at 12:57 pm AEST.
