Medical technology company Singular Health Ltd (ASX:SHG) has launched an updated version of its DICOM viewer – which allows patients to interact with standard 2D medical images, including MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and CT (computerized tomography) scans, in 3D – with this product set to better facilitate management of and engagement with medical records.

The new 3Dicom online viewer includes features such as interactive tutorials, annotations from 3Dicom MD, and integration with ChatGPT 3.5 AI which will enable semi-automated patient education prompts.

Increased accessibility is a key part of the technology offering, as it addresses the problem of patients needing to download desktop applications for Windows or MacOS in order to see and interact with their medical records.

Managing director Denning Chong said the launch reflected Singular Health’s development of user-friendly engagement with their medical data.

“The recent evolution of the 3Dicom software is the technical catalyst for future growth as we open up additional commercial avenues through licensing, easier integration with outputs from AI models, and ‘one-click’ solutions for storage and sharing,” he said.

“This new online viewer retains the spirit of the 3Dicom software, with on-device anonymisation prior to upload, on-device rendering rather than server-based rendering, and numerous other technical innovations that improve accessibility and performance whilst also minimising the usual running costs of cloud-based solutions.”

Singular brought on Cloud-based development in March this year, developing this quickly in-line with the demands of existing customers in the United States.

Singular has been trading at 9.2 cents.
