Sipa Resources (SRI) has commenced drilling at its Murchison Gold Project, located in WA goldfields.

The drilling is part of the second aircore drilling program at the project, which includes around 3500 metres.

Drilling commenced earlier this week on one of the farm-in tenements, where Sipa has earned a 51 per cent interest and is currently funding further exploration to earn up to 90 per cent.

The company is farming into several tenements and wholly owns other tenements in the project.

The current drill program is following up on historical and previous drilling results.

The May results showed hole MUAC0128 return an intercept of 16 metres at 0.5 grams per tonne of gold.

Murchison covers around 470 square kilometres of prospective greenstone lithologies, near the mining centre of Meekatharra.

Sipa expects the second drilling program will take 10 days to complete.

On market close, Sipa is in the grey and trading at 5.5 cents per share.
